Transport and Marina

Nearby Musket Cove offers a fully operational marina for berthage, access to yacht charters, a host of water sports available and the loading and unloading of guests. Transport to the island is available by air and sea:

The Malolo Cat ferry operates services between Malolo Lailai Island & Port Denarau. Operated by Leeward Island Services Ltd, they provide Musket Cove and Plantation Resorts with three return services per day. One-way passage time is 50 minutes.

Includes coach transfers to/from Nadi Airport

The island has a private airstrip, which is also used for regular flights daily between Nadi Airport and Malolo Lailai Island. Frequent flights are from 8:30am to 5.00pm, 7 days a week. Flight time each way is approximately 10 minutes.

Daily servicing is optional and we provide the following in all Villas as part of your stay:

• All linen and towels. (Beach towels not provided).
• Shower amenities (Shampoo, Conditioner and soap).
• All kitchens i designated non-smoking.
• You will be met upon arrival by our friendly staff and given a detailed orientation of the villa you will be staying in as well as a tour of the resort facilities.
• Accommodation includes a welcome fruit drink on arrival.

Please see the facilities chart for further information of the facilities of each villa. Please keep in mind the location and walking distance of each villa from the Resort facilities when making your reservation as transport is not included with your villa. You may have the opportunity to hire bicycles from the Resort.

Dining and Entertainment

Entertainment... Our Fijian Island Band entertains nightly (except Sunday) at "Dick's Place" Bistro & Bar. Every Thursday is our "Pig on the Spit" Island night. Get into the swing, wear your sulu and colorful shirt. On Thursday evening, the Musket Cove Meke group also performs traditional mekes from 8.30pm - 9.30pm.

"The Trader" The general store is open between 8:00am to 7:00pm daily and offers everything you require to prepare a full meal, a barbecue, or just a snack.

"Dicks Place" Bistro & Bar is open daily 8:00am to 9:30pm, serving Fijian infused cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between. A children's dinner menu is available from 5:30pm. Children dining with adults off the main menu are half price. Our Cocktail Bar opens at 8:00am daily and provides restaurant and poolside terrace service until late. Private functions and separate dinning areas are available.

Marina Coffee Cove Café... Providing home-style hearty meals, snacks and refreshments, the café is situated on the verandah of "The Trader" and is open daily from 10am to 6.30pm.

Ratu Nemani Island Bar A sand between the toes beach bar with yacht club priced drinks and open air BBQ facilities.

Special Requests and functions Should you wish to celebrate a Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding, or private function and require anything special, please let us know by contacting Management through reception. The island offers a number of locations for private dining and themed functions. Catering Numbers are dependant on theme, menu and size of location.

Villa Malolo

Villa Malolo is situated at the Northern end of the island on just under 1 acre of tropical gardens, with an elevated position over direct waterfront and stairs to a secluded beach. The Villa was designed by Adrian Sofield who is renowned in the South Pacific for his bold & rustic style Architecture.

The Villa has multiple entertaining and viewing areas. The 4 bedrooms in the main house can sleep up to 8 people with 3 bathrooms and a charming garden cottage with ensuite bathroom can accommodate an additional couple in a king size bed. Each guest will be able to find their own private sanctuary within the Villa's luscious grounds. Facilities include: a large open plan Kitchen, fully equipped with refrigerator, stove top and oven, TV, VCR and DVD player as well as a Laundry area.

The house provides a 37ft Plunge Pool as well as a children's wadding pool, outdoor furniture and Hammocks to enjoy the spectacular views of the Mamanuca group of Islands and the Resort. A telephone is available for calls made via the Resort switchboard and charged to your account. Walking time to the Marina and Resort is approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Vale I Yata

Vale I Yata is true to its local Fijian dialect name meaning 'house on top'. This luxury private home boasts a spectacular hill top location overlooking your own beach with views across to Malolo Island and out to the South Pacific Seas. Completed in early 2007, this home is a new addition to Malolo Lailai's Private Villas.

The open design of the house takes full advantage of the stunning views especially from the heart of the house: the living, dining and kitchen areas. With 4 bedrooms in total, Vale I Yata's 2 master bedrooms are complete with their own private bathrooms and boast water views which are further enhanced by louvered bi-fold doors that open out to the wrap around deck and pool. A 3rd and 4th bedroom share a central bathroom.

You'll experience plenty of Fiji sunshine with the courtyard at the centre of the house which the bedrooms and living/kitchen areas surround. Vale I Yata is tastefully decorated and reflects beach house chic style creating a warm relaxed atmosphere.

Vale Totoka

Meaning "beautiful house" in Fijian, the Penthouse Unit (1,800 sq ft) of a spectacular Pole House, featuring Fiji timbers and leather furnishings, is situated on the hill overlooking the Marina and Resort, with breathtaking views of Waya, Vomo & Beachcomber Islands. The house boasts 2 identical master bedrooms with king size bed, walk-in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms.

The large, open plan living area has two sofa beds that accommodate a maximum of 6. Large entertainment deck with gas BBQ and breakfast bar opening on to decking. Extra large open plan kitchen with microwave, gas hot plates, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and full supply of cutlery, crockery, pots, glassware, washing machine and dryer are also included.

A telephone is available for calls made via the Resort switchboard (charged to your account). Walking time to Musket marina and resort is approximately 12 to 15 minutes.

Kinloch Villa

Slightly elevated on the rise of the hill behind the Villas and Lagoon Bures with garden views this cottage style villa accommodates up to 4 people. The master bedroom features a king size bed with the second bedroom containing 2 single beds. Each bedroom has an individual air-conditioning unit, overhead fan, and ensuite bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries.

Other amenities include telephone connected to Resort switchboard, iron and ironing-board, large exterior deck, outdoor furniture and a cold-water outdoor shower, open plan living, high ceilings, overhead fans, breakfast bar and stools, separate dining table and chairs, spacious lounge with TV/video and fully equipped kitchen with stove/ oven, full sized fridge/freezer and microwave. A total compliment of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, etc, electric fry pan, electric jug, sandwich maker and electric barbecue/griller are also supplied.

The house is approximately a 4 minute stroll from the Musket Cove Marina, general store and "Coffee Cove" Café or a 4 minute stroll to the Resort reception and "Dick's Place Bar & Bistro".

Beach-House

Situated on the Northern end of Malolo Lailai overlooking one of the Island's many beaches with views of the surrounding Mamanuca islands, this 3 bedroom home can sleep up to 8 people.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and private ensuite. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds with an ensuite, which is shared with the 3rd bedroom, containing 2 bunk beds (sleeping a maximum of 4). The casual "pole-house" structure provides an easy-going atmosphere for a family holiday. The Large living area is cooled from the sea breeze and there are ceiling fans in all bedrooms. The house has a telephone (calls made via resort switchboard), stereo, small TV, fully equipped kitchen (microwave and gas cook top).

The house is approximately a 12-minute stroll from the Musket Cove Marina, general store and the Café. A 15 minute strolls to the Musket Cove Island Resort reception and "Dick's Place Bar & Bistro".

Reef House

Situated on the Northern end of Malolo Lailai adjacent to one of the Island's many beaches, this air-conditioned 3 bedroom home accommodates up to 8 people.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed and shares a bathroom with the second bedroom containing one single bed. The third bedroom has a queen size bed and private ensuite. The living area has a pull out double sofa bed and a reading room with a divan that can also be made up as a single bed. The casual timber structure provides an easy-going atmosphere for a simple family holiday. There are ceiling fans in all bedrooms.

The house has a phone (calls made via Resort switchboard), stereo, TV, VCR & DVD player, fully equipped kitchen (microwave, gas cook top & refrigerator). A BBQ is provided to enjoy the ample deck space & outdoor furniture. Approximately a 12 minute stroll to the Musket Cove Marina, general store & Café. A 15 minute stroll to the Resort reception and "Dick's Place Bar & Bistro".

Villa Marau

This large and luxurious villa is ideal for big families or a group of friends. The open plan kitchen and living area was built to take full advantage of the panoramic view of the bay from it's elevated position in the hills of Malolo Lailai, overlooking Musket Cove Resort. Tastefully and comfortably decorated, the lounge opens onto the large decks to allow indoor or outdoor dining.

The villa features 6 bedrooms with 6 bathrooms, generous deck areas to enjoy the facilities that the house has to offer, TV, DVD player, telephone, BBQ, Stereo, large swimming pool with wet edge, full kitchen (dishwasher, oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator), dinning table to seat 12 people. The house is approximately a 5 minute stroll from the Musket Cove marina, general store and "Coffee Cove" Café. Also 5 minute stroll to the resort reception and "Dick's Place Bar & Bistro".

Villa Horizons

New to our complement of private houses, Villa Horizons is nestled atop of Malolo Lailai's hill overlooking the Marina with majestic views out to sea. With a simple but modern décor, the Villa features 3 bedrooms, a BBQ area and an expansive deck area ideal for entertaining.

Facilities include: a TV, DVD player, Stereo, kitchen complete with a stovetop, microwave and refrigerator, dining table setting for 8 and is only a short 15 minute walk to Resort facilities. Sleeping up to 8 people in air-conditioned comfort with 2 King size bedrooms, both with ensuites upstairs and a 3rd bedroom with a King bed and double bunk bed, shower and laundry downstairs the Villa is well equipped for a family holiday or vacation with friends.
